Truck Crash Causes Thousands In Damage At Business Park In Westchester

Police are investigating a crash in which a truck driver who struck a utility pole in a busy Westchester business park lot, causing thousands of dollars in damage, before driving off.

Investigators at the North Castle Police Department received a report on Tuesday, Jan. 27 from an employee of a Business Park Drive company that on Jan. 5, a tractor-trailer with “Strauss Paper Company” lettering on the side struck a pole in the parking lot.

The estimated damage costs to repair the pole totaled $3,200. Police said that the employee told officers that he did not have access to surveillance video until this week due to a co-worker being out of the office. Multiple attempts to contact Strauss Paper Company went unanswered, police said.

Police are reviewing the footage and secured photos of the damaged pole. The case is currently under investigation.
